Ugo Rizzo is an Associated Professor in Economic Policy at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Sciences at the University of Ferrara, where he obtained his Ph.D. in 2010.

During his time as a Ph.D. student and young researcher, he has carried out periods of study and research at various international institutions such as Manchester Business School (Manchester, UK), INGENIO CSIC-UPV (Valencia, Spain), Southampton School of Management (Southampton, UK). His research interests are in innovation economics, university-industry relations, and entrepreneurship
