Training objectives

The teaching has among its educational objectives to be able to provide Master's Degrees with a focus on how the use of transversal concepts such as governance, management, control and performance logics fit into a particular type of company such as the cooperative, and how these concepts must be incorporated into specific business realities (profit, not for profit), so that they are able to reflect and enhance the company's principles and values ¿¿in both their quantitative and qualitative dimensions.

Prerequisites

Knowledge of business economics, management control and elements of the organization

Course programme

The teaching contents help to provide knowledge regarding the aspects that characterize the cooperative organization and how these can be reflected in the management and control processes, as well as in those of organization performance evaluation. The latter will be addressed, in particular in its multidimensional dimension. The first part of the teaching is aimed at offering the tools for a detailed analysis and diagnosis of the organizational structure typical of small, medium and large cooperative enterprises, analyzing its peculiarities and differences in the broader sector of the cooperation economy. In the development of the second part, the teaching intends to transfer useful skills so that students can be able to bring together the peculiarities of cooperative companies within the processes and tools of business management and control (traditionally intended)
The teaching is based on the systematic presence of professionals and experts in the sector in order to provide greater integration between the theoretical and operational aspects.
Course contents:
- Social organization, not profit company, profit enterprise
- Change of the entrepreneurial style in the economic system: new realities between profit and social.
- History of cooperation and purpose: outline.
- Different types of cooperative companies and implications in the evaluation processes
- Legislative framework (outline).
- Governance models in the cooperative system and in the cooperative company.
- Strategic planning and stakeholder management.
- Planning and management control.
- Human resources management.
- Economic and social reporting.

Didactic methods

Blended mode about 50% in presence and about 50% remotely
The lessons will take place in mixed mode both in presence and with recorded lessons, testimonies of cooperative companies

The first week of class will be in presence.
The lessons will alternate between theoretical lessons and company testimonies

Learning assessment procedures

The skills test consists in carrying out an individual thesis or at most in pairs. The modalities will be explained during the course.
