Piergiorgio Mazzotti Selected for European Student Assembly
Piergiorgio Mazzotti, our COLOURS Chief Student Ambassador at Unife, has been selected as one of only 250 students across Europe to participate in the European Student Assembly (ESA). This opportunity is part of the Erasmus+ EUC Voices project, and Piergiorgio's selection underscores the significant role of Unife within the COLOURS alliance. Being part of this alliance has opened doors for our students, as the ESA selects participants exclusively from 64 European University Alliances.
The European Student Assembly is an annual flagship initiative designed to bring together students from these alliances to engage in discussions on key issues shaping the future of Europe. Selected students will participate in one of eight discussion panels, focusing on critical topics such as mental health, climate policy, artificial intelligence, and inclusivity.
These panels will involve both online and in-person sessions, culminating in a final assembly at the European Parliament in Strasbourg from 26 to 28 May 2025. During this event, ESA participants will have the opportunity to develop and present policy recommendations, contributing to a more inclusive and democratic Europe.
The objectives of the ESA include amplifying the voices of students from diverse backgrounds and fields of study, fostering community-building across European University Alliances, and advocating for deliberative processes to bridge the gap between citizens and decision-makers. Additionally, the assembly encourages students to engage in European politics at local, national, and European levels, aiming to rejuvenate European democracy.
We congratulate Piergiorgio on this remarkable achievement and look forward to the valuable contributions he will make to the discussions at the European Student Assembly.
