CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
A Master’s degree in CTF gives several career opportunities both in public and in private spheres. In particular, job perspectives address pharmaceutical chemistry industry, food industry, health products production, commercial activities, instruction, research centres and public Health. Possible career opportunities can be found in these fields:
Research in the pharemaceutical field (design and synthesis of drugs, characterization of novel drug formulation; evaluation of drug pharmacokinetics);
Drug quality check, including quality control of plant derived drugs;
Drug formulation and production;
Drug manufacturing, preservation and distribution;
Production and control of healthcare products, medical and surgical devices;
Production and quality control of dietary, food, herbal and cosmetic products;
Medical information on drugs and dissemination of information and advice in the healthcare sector;
Clinical trials on new experimental drugs;
Patent registration of medicines;
Regulatory affair and Pharmacovigilance;
Marketing on drugs and cosmetics.
In addition, a CTF graduate may be employed at the interface between drug production and patients, such as at ASL, public, private and hospital pharmacies, drugstores or herbalists, where the profession requires not only skills on preparation, preservation and quality control of medicines, medical and surgical devices and cosmetics, but also the ability to provide consultancy, health education and information on medicines and health products. Given its multidisciplinary training, the graduate is then prepared to enter into many areas, not only of a purely chemical-technological nature, but also of a biomedical type. Finally, pursuant to Directive 85/432 / EEC, the acquisition of the degree in CTF allows the profession of Pharmacist (after the achievement of the Pharmacist's qualification).
