Training objectives
- The course aims to identify and analyze methods and tools for the management of the production cycle on site in order to ensure knowledge of the activities in carrying out the function of site manager and construction manager.
Provide the knowledge of the fundamental methods and tools for the management of production on site, the planning of the works, the architectural project, the safety of the construction site and the work phases.
The ultimate goal is to strengthen the relationship between training and the labor market by providing knowledge for professionals who are able to organize the production cycle according to principles of management and control of product and process quality. Prerequisites
- The student who accesses this teaching knows the technological systems that constitute the building organism and knows how to use the ACAD drawing programs.
All lessons will be held in Italian. Course programme
- 1. Operational planning - Factors for planning the project and the site in the production cycle. The organization of the construction site. The management of construction procedures: decomposition of activities and definition of resources. Planning and scheduling of works.
2. The regulatory design - the contract. The management of the contract. Types of procurement. Roles and responsibilities in the decision-making process: the designer, the project manager, the tester.
3. Economic planning - Cost analysis: costs of resources and construction procedures. Cost centers in industrial accounting. The economic-financial plan.
4. Safety planning - Italian and European legislation on the welfare and safety of workers on construction sites. The roles and responsibilities of the operators. Security management documents ..
5. The Company Quality System - Project management in business management. Product, process, project quality.
6. Quality criteria in the design - Design phases and requirements of the building system. Definition of methods and tools for planning, management and control of the design process. Definition and application of operational procedures for project quality control.
7. Quality criteria in execution - Management phases of the production cycle. Planning and control of the production process. Structuring the quality plan in the production process. Planning and management of operational procedures and work instructions.
8. Order cycle management - Quality in the phases of research, study, launch, management, execution of the job order and closure of the works.
9. Models of organization and safety management - Safety system in the construction site. Management, control and review.
10. The project of the construction site:
- the building site: work stations and plants
- site logistics
- the construction site of infrastructural works
Technique and regulations for building safety:
construction site layout and work stations

temporary works (scaffolding)
construction site systems (electric and crane)
Models and operators of the building process - roles and operators for construction work and their safety
Technical - administrative - economic management:
regulatory framework and operators, the Director of Works. Didactic methods
- lectures, on-site inspections, seminars with senior technicians at international companies in the construction sector.
In parallel to the theoretical lessons are the exercises (project) which involves the division into groups of 4-6 students. each group will be asked to design an emergency health facility in an African country. at the end of the course the students will present their work in a workshop-seminar organized together with the Engineering School of Bologna and the Emergency - Ferrara group.
