Training objectives
- To allow the student to recognize the symptoms of arising faults in turbomachinery in order to activate the necessary maintenance actions. To know the problems concerning with maintenance activities. To study the different maintenance techniques. To know the fields of Artificial Intelligence and their use for maintenence activities.
Prerequisites
- The knowledge of the different configurations and the working of turbomachinery
Course programme
- Basic and useful Gasdynamic concepts. The study of Brayton cycle sensibility for the different configurations of turbomachinery. The study of turbomachinery behaviour during off-design working. The faults arising in turbomachinery. The performance trend analysis. The fault diagnostics. The matrices of influence. Maintenance. The different types. The RAM and the maintenance times. FMECA and its improvements for maintenance aims. Artificial Intelligence. Expert Systems and Neural Networks. Their use for maintenance activities.
Didactic methods
- The course deals with the various arguments by furnishing both theoretical basis and examples from real world.
