Training objectives
- This class aims at bringing students closer to a professional designer’s approach to a project. This through a series of lectures and exercises organized in a rich calendar of reviews and underway presentations.
The chosen topic, on which the two main exercises will be focused, is lighting design, one of the most rapidly evolving sectors in product design, meaning also one in deep need of research by designers.
Three leading companies will be involved to grant the students the necessary instruments to develop a coherent and conscious project: one of the world’s main producers of light emitting diodes will give a detailed report on state of the art technology while a leading brand in lighting design with Murano glass will be at disposal with all its knowhow for technical and market-oriented reviews. Prerequisites
- Ability to convey ideas through hand drawing. Ability to organize ideas in a coherent system and to develop them into a project through analytical/logical thinking.
