Training objectives
- This course will provide the students a basic outline of the pre-roman Italy, particularly of the Etruscan Civilisation, from the beginning of the IX century B.C. to the merging of the Etruscan world into the Roman worlds.
Prerequisites
- A general knowledge of greek and roman history as well as a rudimentary acquaintance with classical archaeology .
Course programme
- A part of the course concerns the general aspects af the discipline. The lessons will be especially from an historical and archaeological point of view, but with reference to the art-historical, iconographic, numismatic, religious, ideological aspects as well as the most recent methodological views on the field of anthropology have also applied. There will be a serie of exercises about the historiography of Etruscoly.
