Microwave Transistor Characterization and Modeling

Short description of the research team

Thematic fields of interest/research areas: Microwave Transistor Characterization and Modeling. In particular, our research interests involve development of measurement techniques and instrumentation setups for high-frequency transistor characterization (GaN transistors in particular); development of nonlinear transistor models oriented to high-frequency (MMIC) circuit design.

Manager/head of the team: Prof. Giorgio Vannini

Team members: Prof. Antonio Raffo, Dr. Valeria Vadalà, Dr. Gianni Bosi

Research infrastructures:

ETLab (Electronics for Telecommunications Research Laboratory) - Laboratory with advanced high-frequency instrumentation (VNAs, real-time sampling-oscilloscopes, load-pull systems, etc.)

Prerequisites of the trainee researcher:

Level of education: “Marie Curie Individual Fellowship” Action requirements
Research experience: PhD degree in this research area
Required working language: English

Further useful information: Currently, we are involved in different research projects on GaN transistor modeling and characterization, with national and international GaN foundries.
