Ancient genomes: Inferring phenotypes and population histories
Short description of the research team
Thematic fields of interest/research areas: Ancient genomes: Inferring phenotypes and population histories
(Key words: Population genetics, Evolution, Human evolution, Bioinformatics, Palaeogenomics)
Manager/head of the team: Guido Barbujani
Team members: Gloria Gonzalez Fortes, Patricia Santos
Research infrastructures:
Our laboratory has the computers, the software, and the expertise for all bionformatic analyses and for testing evolutionary hypotheses, as well as direct contact with genotyping facilities. We are part of an international network of labs collaborating in the reconstruction of human evolutionary history, including palaeonthologists, archaeologists, anthropologists, linguists, and of course experts in genomics and ancient DNA.
Prerequisites of the trainee researcher:
Level of education: “Marie Curie Individual Fellowship” Action requirements
Research experience: Basic knowledge of informatics
