Training objectives
- The educational goal is to teach an understanding of the eventual relationships between sources and images, of their chronological and stylistic ambient and the capacity to describe and identify subjects through a correct use of the methodology.

None. Course programme
- The course intends to compare four different interpretations of Botticelli's "Birth of Venus" and "Spring" with the aim of showing how images can be interpreted, giving them a 'meaning', only on the basis of of primary sources. But even this hermeneutical passage presents difficulties that turn out to be of great interest on the methodological level.

- FINAL TEST
The final test will consist of an oral exam which will assess the knowledge and understanding of the subjects discussed during the course and of the reference texts. Critical skills and the ability to discuss the problems will be assessed. Reference texts
