Training objectives
- The course aims to deepen the knowledge of the texts of some tragic and comic writers of ancient Greek literature and to study the tradition and reception in the Renaissance of some of these texts.
The students will deepen the knowledge of the ancient theater and they will see the fallout in the next Italian culture.
The aim of the course is to improve the knowledge of texts of ancient tragic and comic authors. Prerequisites
- Greek ancient language (first level)
Course programme
- Texts of aeschylus, Sophocles, Euripides, Aristophanes and/or texts of the classical tradition
Didactic methods
- Introductory lessons on the peculiarities of the ancient theater and philological and dramaturgy laboratory of the ancient texts and the new rewritings.
Learning assessment procedures
- Course tests with oral questions during classes and short reports on predetermined topics. Final oral exam with a preliminary examination of knowledge of the language and the ability to translation and questions of history of the ancient and Renaissance theatrical literature . The examination program provides some variation every year .

Guidorizzi or D. Del Corno, Bettini etc.).
However the following pages of Mastromarco - Totaro : (1-67 ; 165-91) will be essential.
