Training objectives
- Profound linguistic knowledge: theoretical and functional language skills on an advanced level to improve comprehension and analysis of written and oral material.
Final objective: level C1+/C2 of the European Framework.
Preparation for the certificate C1+/C2 of the Goethe Institute. Prerequisites
- Level B2+/C1 of the European Framework
Lingua tedesca (First year German) Course programme
- Lectures (professor):
Intercultural communication, language contact and plurilinguism
Models of cultural classification, phenomena of cultural contact (with analysis of selected films and individual experience), Sapir-Whorf Hypothesis, plurilinguism and linguistic identity, cultural contact and intercultural business communication (linguistic, paralinguistic, social and psychological aspects).
Advanced language study ("lettorato"):
Written and oral competence at level C1+/C2:
1st semester: analysis of different types of texts and styles of language, analysis of complex syntax structures and text linguistics and oral competence and advanced listening comprehension.
2nd semester: in-depth understanding of linguistic varieties and refining oral skills (discussion, argumentation etc.) Didactic methods
- Interactive method, student presentations, practical exercises, guided and autonomous research, written paper.
Learning assessment procedures
- Lecture (professor):
The students will give an oral presentation in class (with handout).
During the second semester students will work on a project which puts in practice the theories studied.
Non-attending students will hand in a "Portfolio" containing a set of tasks agreed upon with the professor; it will be discussed in an oral exam.
Advanced language study “lettorato”:
Written and oral exam (Those who cannot attend class will receive a special program in order to be able to work at home. It will be verified during the oral exam). Reference texts
