Training objectives

Basic knowledge of current research on teaching methods; insight and first experience in teaching German as a foreign language.

Language study (taught by a mother-tongue language trainer):
The main objectives of the course are to develop profound theoretical and functional language skills to improve comprehension and analysis of written and oral material.

Final objective: level C1 of the European Framework.

Prerequisites

Level B2+ of the European Framework
German (1st semester)

Course programme

Learning theories (grammatical, audiolingual, communicative and intercultural approach); multimedia didactics (use of visual and digital support: apps, educast etc.), analysis of exemplary situations (from videos), production of online foreign language teaching materials.

Didactic methods

Interactive method (lecture, individual and group work), student presentations, guided and autonomous research, written paper; supervised practical experience (demonstration lesson at school).

Learning assessment procedures

Written assignment: production of an educast.
Oral examination: discussion of the educast.
The educast must be handed in one week before the exam date.
