Training objectives
- The aim of the course is to give the basic knowledge about the pathophysiology of both digestion and absorption of the nutrients
Prerequisites
- Basic knowledge of the principles in Anatomy and Physiology of the digestive system
Course programme
- Mentions of Therapy with relation to nutrition, especially in the elderly.
The digestive diseases related to malnutrition, meaning the excess or defect of the nutrient intake.
The pathophysiology of nutrient digestion and absorption.
Clinical aspects and investigation. Didactic methods
- Lectures
Learning assessment procedures
- Two questions from each teacher, 10-15 min and the evaluation is based on the consistence of the answers, as well as on the exposition clearness.
To pass this test it is required to get at least 18 points out of 30. Reference texts
