Training objectives
- PSYCHOLOGY OF HUMAN BEHAVIOUR
The course aims to provide the student with skills in:
-basic cognitive processes (attention, consciousness, language, communication, intelligence, motivation, emotion)
-the fundamental theoretical approaches to the study of personality (trait, biological, phenomenology, behavioural and cognitive approaches)
PSYCHOLOGY OF THE REPORT TO THE CLINIC
Knowledge: Acquire the knowledge required to establish an effective therapeutic relationship with the patient and his family. Skills: -Learn appropriate and effective methods of observation, relationships and communication.
Apply in adeguate way the patient's process of adaptation and of his family to a situation of severe acquired disability. Recognize the causes of occupational stress of professionals and how to prevent it. Know the risk of Burn-out syndrome in helping professions
MULTICULTURAL RLATIONSHIPS
Knowledge: to construct metacognitive knowledge in terms of both contents and strategies in communications and relationship area in different cultures.
Ability: - to analyse of the most frequent communication errors; to reflect on implicit epistemologies; - to discuss on the method of scientific investigation in the medical and social-health fields; to reflect on the nature of the language involved in the medical operator-patient relationship; to report ancestral health practices. - Introductory teachings binding: None
Knowledge and skills deemed already acquired: Basic knowledge of psychology, professional profile, code of ethics, other rules concerning the rehabilitation and professional culture. Basic knowledge of the medical vocabulary in the field of physiotherapy. Course programme
- PSYCHOLOGY OF HUMAN BEHAVIOUR
Cognitive processes psychology: attention, consciousness, language, communication, intelligence, motivation, emotion
study of personality (trait, biological, phenomenology, behavioural and cognitive approaches)- Theories of personality: biological, phenomenological, behavioural, socio-cognitive approaches
CLINICAL PSHCHOLOGY
Observation. Self-awareness. Active listening. Empathy. Communication (verbal, non verbal, content/relations). Grieving. Adaptation to disability on the part of the patients and their families. Emotional reactions of the health professional. Burn-out. Teamwork.
MULTI-CULTURAL RELATIONSHIPS
The contributions of narrative medicine;
Epistemology of medical knowledge and epistemology of humanistic knowledge;
The contribution of Gregory Bateson;
The nature of medical scientific language;

CLINICAL PSHCHOLOGY Frontal lessons, seminars followed by discussion of clinical observations
MULTI-CULTURAL RELATIONSHIPS Exposure, debate and discussion on the contents and formative proposal. Learning assessment procedures
- PSYCHOLOGY OF HUMAN BEHAVIOR: oral examination with written preliminary report
PSYCHOLOGY OF THE REPORT IN THE CLINIC: oral examination with 2 open questions about one of the topics presented in class. Time 20 minutes. Evaluation criteria: correctness, completeness and clarity
MULTI-CULTURAL RELATIONSHIPS
The exam will take place in written form. The essay, or written reflection, will focus on one of the topics covered during the course. The test will take into account the following indicators:
Knowledge of the contents - Logical coherence of argumentative exposure - Linguistic accuracy. The evaluation will be expressed in thirtieths and will take into account the same indicators, each indicator will provide up to a maximum of 10 points.
THE FINAL GRADE IS A WEIGHTED AVERAGE OF THE MARKS OBTAINED IN EACH TESTS. Reference texts
