------------------------------------------------------------
Modulo: 53162 - FISIOTERAPIA NEI DISTURBI NEUROLOGICI
------------------------------------------------------------
NEUROLOGY IN REHABILITATION
The course aims to provide the student with a grounding in:
-physiopathology and the clinical features of the main neurological disorders in relation to epidemiological data, focussing particularly on head trauma, myelopathies, peripheral nervous system disorders, and pathologies involving both the central and peripheral nervous system of a traumatic, inflammatory, vascular and degenerative nature.

NEUROSURGERY AND PHYSIOTHERAPY
Know the clinical and neuroimaging of the priority health problems in the nervous system and peripheral of various origin, likely to neurosurgical treatment.

PHYSIOTHERAPY IN NEUROLOGICAL DISORDERS
-HEAD AND SPINAL CORD TRAUMA
Causes and consequences of CT, international scales for CT assessment, effects of PEG, bladder catheter and tracheal cannula. Positioning and transfers with the patient. Various forms of spinal cord injuries, evaluations scales and level of the injury. The student can apply appropriate physiotherapeutic interventions and develop a training program for patients with complete or incomplete injuries. Criteria for the selection of wheelchair and other aids.
HEMIPLAGIA
-the principles of cognitive theory aimed at observation, planning and carrying out treatment in accordance with systemic-cognitive criteria
-motility as essential to function and interaction between motor skills, perception and mental function, all aspects to be taken into consideration in diagnosis, planning and carrying out of treatment.
ALS, MS and ATAXIA
-the most common chronic, neurological disorders and the importance of their classification in order to identify the main problems on which to plan rehabilitation also through use of evaluation scales.

ASSESSMENT OF NEUROPSYCHOLOGICAL DISORDERS
The student will be able to transform the knowledge of neuropsychological disorders resulting from brain disorders in the adult patient into rehabilitation strategies. Acquire basic skills with respect to an integrated bio-psychosocial rehabilitation approach (rehabilitation team), which requires the team attention not only to the recovery aspects of the patient's cognitive difficulties, but also to the social and family reintegration and the psychological and environmental aspects of the patient.

NEUROPSYCHOLOGICAL REHABILITATION
Acquire specific knowledge in the framework of neuropsychological disorders resulting from the brain pathology of the adult patient.

REHABILITATION PATHS IN THE NEUROLOGICAL FIELD
On completion of the course the student is expected to have acquired basic skills in:
-rehabilitation in the main secondary neurological disorders (the rules leading to appropriate management of patients with disabilities following neurological impairment)
-the rationale for appropriate assessment of patient management and the main evaluation tools to measure impairment, limitations in activity and restrictions in participation
-the rationale and approach to the main disabilities related to disorders of the peripheral and central nervous systems, based on the physiopathology of alterations in functions and body structure
Prerequisites
Anatomy of the musculoskeletal and nervous system. Neurophysiology. Physiology. Kinesiology and methodology of rehabilitation. Basis of general pathology and pharmacology

------------------------------------------------------------
Modulo: 53164 - PERCORSI RIABILITATIVI IN AMBITO NEUROLOGICO
------------------------------------------------------------
Acquire the basic concepts of the enabling approach and the methods of rehabilitative intervention to the main disabilities secondary to
neurological pathology: the rules for appropriate taking charge of people with results of disabling neurological damage. Acquire the rationale for an accurate evaluation of the people to be taken in charge and know the main measuring instruments related to impairments, the limitations of the activities and the restrictions of the participation of disabled subjects. Formulate a team for the rehabilitation project according to the ICF model, also regarding the guidelines for stroke, spinal cord injury, TBI, MS.

Learning assessment procedures

NEUROLOGY IN REHABILITATION: The oral exam consists of two questions on topics covered in the course. For each answer are awarded up to 15 points, depending on the completeness of the contents, the level of detail, clarity in the exposition, argumentation and the ability to make connections with practice. If the student proves insufficient preparation, can be proposed another question.
NEUROSURGERY AND PHYSIOTHERAPY: Written exam: Thirty multiple choise questions (5 possible answers one correct). One correct answer is 1 point. Wrong answer or not correct is 0 points. To pass the exam it is necessary to reach 18 point out 30. Duration: 1 hour. In case of poor result, it is possible oral form examination.
PHYSIOTHERAPY IN NEUROLOGICAL DISORDERS: The oral and practical examination takes place in pairs and each student are placed 3 questions about the clinical description, the description of symptoms, the choice of physiotherapy strategies, outcome measurement methods and in the definition treatment. For each correct answer they are assigned max. 10 points.
ASSESSMENT OF NEUROPSYCHOLOGICAL DISORDERS: the oral exam consists of a discussion with the candidates to evaluate their knowledge. During the discussion candidates are asked three questions on subjects covered during the course of lessons. For the first question, students can choose the subject they prefer. Each answer is given a mark from between 1 to 10, which will depend on: the completeness of the answer; the depth of the answer given; the clarity of the answer and use of “professional” language; and the relationship to clinical practice. The final mark is the sum of each of the partial marks given. Honours (“LODE”) may be awarded subject to agreement with the candidate, who will be asked an additional question.
NEUROPSYCHOLOGICAL REHABILITATION : The exam consists of a written assignment of 12 questions (4 questions per unit) which can be opened or multiple choice. Each question receives 0 to 2 points: 0 points = incorrect answer; 1 point = only partially correct answer; 2 points = completely correct answer. In order to obtain a sufficiency (18/30), the candidate needs at least 12 points. Candidates who obtain score less than 12 points is not sufficient and can repeat the exam (written; with partially different questions) in a subsequent exam session.
REHABILITATION PATHS IN THE NEUROLOGICAL FIELD: the exam consists of 25-30 multiple-choice quiz, one correct. Available to the student time: 45 minutes.
THE FINAL MARK RESULTS FROM THE WEIGHTED AVERAGE OF THE THREE PARTIAL RATINGS.
