Training objectives
- To get a good knowledge of the structures involved in ingestion and mastication of aliments.
Prerequisites
- Knowledge about structural and functional organization of tissues and the mechanisms regulating cell communication. General knowledge of the anatomy of the bones, joints and muscular system, anatomical and functional organization of the vascular and nervous systems.
Course programme
- Structure and relationships of the facial bones and mandible. Morphology and mechanical of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ). The functional and limit movements of the mandible. General characteristics of the masticatory muscles and their role in the mechanical of TMJ. Structure of oral cavity and pharynx . Vessels and innervation of the stomatognathic system.
