Training objectives
- To learn cell culture techniques and their applications in dental research field.
Prerequisites
- Notions of biochemistry, molecular biology and cell biology.
Course programme
- Lessons:
Sterility conditions and culture media. Cell culture preparation. Cell proliferation and viability. Nucleic acid extraction. PCR . Real time RT-PCR. Western blotting and immunohistochemistry.
Practical lessons:
Cell culture preparation. PCR and protein electrophoresis. Didactic methods
- Lectures and practical training.
Learning assessment procedures
- Oral exam divided in two parts
1) Discussion of a scientific report by using slides prepared by the student.
2) Two questions regarding course program.
Duration about 30 min. Reference texts
