MICROBIOLOGY
The student, at the end of the Microbiology course, must have acquired knowledge regarding the composition, structure and biological cycle of Bacteria, Viruses and Mycetes. The student will know the bases of the diagnostic procedures used in Microbiology and the mechanisms by which the microorganisms can cause the diseases. Furthermore, the student will understand the interactions between microorganisms and host, with particular attention to the bases of the bacterial, viral and mycetes pathogenesis, and to the immune response of the host. In addition, the student will know the principles of bacterial genetics related to the bacterial pathogenicity and acquisition of resistance to antibacterial drugs, the host defense mechanisms, and the damage mechanisms of the main human pathogens. The student will know the mechanism of action of the main antibacterial drugs and the molecular mechanisms responsible for the drug resistance. The student also will know the structural and biological characteristics of the human pathogen listed in the course program. Prerequisites

- THE FINAL GRADE IS A WEIGHTED AVERAGE OF THE MARKS OBTAINED IN EACH TESTS.
PHYSIOLOGY
The oral exam, lasting about twenty minutes, provides a teacher's question to test the basic knowledge of the main physiological mechanisms of the body. Language property, exhibit clarity, reasoning skills, are also evaluated.
GENERAL PATHOLOGY
Multiple choice test. 31 questions in 30 minutes. 1 point for every correct answer, 0 point for every incorrect or invalid answer. 18 points are necessary to pass the exam. Maximum score: 30+L.
GENERAL MICROBIOLOGY
The exam will consist of a written test, including 31 multiple-choice questions in 30 minutes. The score of the written test will be evaluated as follows: each correct multiple-choice answer = 1; each correct open answer = 2; each incorrect multiple-choice or open answer = 0 (total final score for a totally correct test = 31, i.e. 30L).
