Training objectives
- Knowing how to implement correct ethical and deontological behaviors, also in relation to the humanization aspects of care and the rules that regulate nursing practice.
Promote the protection of human rights from a multicultural perspective while respecting the physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs of each individual as a human being.
Accept the responsibilities related to professional practice by recognizing their areas of competence and arguing with ethical discernment the reasons behind such behaviors.
Know the main bioethical positions in relation to the fundamental moments of life (birth and death) and the possible interactions with contemporary scientific and technological progress in the health sector. Prerequisites
- Knowledge of the concept of health and disease, of complex health systems and their models of communication and therapeutic relationship; of the operative mechanisms of the care process and of the general concepts of ethics.
Course programme
- Ethics as "pursuit of good" and "reflection on the behavior of the just".
The challenges of the new powers of intervention on life: how to determine the limit of human intervention?
Where does life begin and where does it end and to what extent has scientific and technological progress changed these boundaries, requiring a new identification of the human subject?
Nursing action and its bioethical contents in relation to the beginning of life, end-of-life choices, experimentation and genetic engineering. Didactic methods
- Lectures, in-depth seminars on one or more topics of interest to students.
Learning assessment procedures
- Administration of a classroom case, the evaluation will take into greater account the ability to argue and deepen the case proposed and the way in which it is presented.
