Modulo: 015371 - METODOLOGIA DELLA RICERCA INFERMIERISTICA
------------------------------------------------------------
Acquire knowledge of nursing research methodology by introducing the student to the conceptual and methodological foundations of research. Have the basic knowledge to define the meaning of scientific research in the nursing / health sector. Possess knowledge on the methodological principles of research and critical evaluation of evidence. Have adequate knowledge about the main research designs.
Introduction to the reading and compilation of a research protocol.

EBN (EVIDENCE BASED NURSING)
At the end of the course, the student must possess the knowledge that allows him to carry out an evidence-based practice. To this end, the studentmust have general knowledge of evidence based practice and its effects on patients, professionals and organizers. Must be able to ask questions relevant to nursing care.
Must have a good knowledge of the various study designs and the methodologies to search for them in the main databases. The student must have knowledge to make a critical evaluation of the studies

APPLIED STATISTICS
The course is intended to teach basic concepts of descriptive and inferential statistics applied to the biomedical field.
The teaching program is designed to providing the basic knowledge for interpreting the main statistical results reported in scientific evidence.

The course will be structured around the following topics:
1) Descriptive Statistics: central tendency and variability indexes.
2) The fundamentals of probability as applied to diagnostic tests and biomedical research.
4) Statistical inference: Interval estimates (confidence intervals) and hypothesis testing with applications and examples in clinical research.
6) Inference on categorical data: the main measures of association such as Odds Ratio (OR) and Relative Risk (RR).
