- CLINICAL TRAINING
GENERAL OBJECTIVE
Apply the nursing practice to exercise the specialized care skills, in health care settings at medium / high complexity
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
- application of diagnostic concepts to specialised medium/complex nursing care planning
-identification of the physiological, psychosocial needs of patients of all ages to provide care within a framework of interdisciplinary health care teams.
- organization of the delivery of care using efficient and correct technical assistance across settings in the management of patients with different pathologies and with diverse populations. Prerequisites
- Nursing sciences, biomedical sciences, medical-surgical sciences, propaedeutic sciences
Nursing techniques related to clinical training and laboratory of the first year second semester Course programme
- Nursing care to patients of various ages presenting priority health problems in medical and surgical settings.
Nursing techniques in medical and surgical settings, such as:
- Intravenous therapy. Infusion therapy
- Oxygen therapy with nasal cannula. Oxygen therapy through a Venturi mask
- Aerosol Therapy
- Intravenous cannula positioning (abocath or intima)
- Venous Withdrawal
- Management central venous catheter
- Implantable venous access management (Porth to cath, Groshong, Hickman, PICC). Venous Sampling in cvc. Arterial levy - blood gases
- PVC Measurement
- ECG execution
- Aspiration nasopharyngeal. Bronchoaspiration
- Total parenteral nutrition
- Placement of nasogastric (Sng)
- Enteral nutrition with Sng and with Peg
- Surgical wound care
- Chest tube management
- Abdominal drains Management
- Water balance
- Medication and care of urostomy and of colostomy. Irrigation of the colostomy
- Medication and care of the tracheostomy
- Blood transfusion
- Assistance in bone marrow biopsy, in the liver biopsy, in the paracentesis, in thoracentesis
- Assistance in the lumbar puncture
Nurse/patient relationships, sustaining patient compliance during treatment, use of counselling
Nursing care for terminal patients. Didactic methods
- Internship at bedsite.
Supporting internship guides mainly in a 1:1 ratio Learning assessment procedures
- Evaluation in thirtieths for each internship experience carried out. The assessment is carried out by the identified internship guide. The average of the internship evaluations contributes to 70% of the final grade of the second-year internship.
Internship exam: elaboration of a care planning for a patient with medium care complexity with:
carrying out the nursing assessment and development of care planning. Time available 90 minutes. Evaluation in thirtieths.
It contributes to 30% of the final grade of the second-year internship. Reference texts
