NEUROLOGY
Knowledge of the most important syndromes, neurological damage, the most important neurological diseases and their management, the side effects of drugs used in neurology and neurological side effects of medications.
------------------------------------------------------------
Modulo: 015366/2 - NEFROLOGIA
------------------------------------------------------------
INTERNAL MEDICINE (GERIATRICS)
Describe the physiological processes of aging and the effects of age on the manifestations of disease. The concepts of fragility, polipatologia, functional loss, non-specific symptoms, cascading failure, drug therapy in the elderly and adherence to the treatment program. Describe the multidimensional assessment as part of the holistic approach of the elderly. Define and classify stroke, describe the causes and risk factors, pathophysiology, symptoms and signs, diagnosis and therapy in acute and post acute / rehabilitation.
Defining the cognitive impairment, Alzheimer's disease and the differential diagnosis with depression. Describe falls in relation to sensory deficits and mobility and balance disorders (osteoporosis and osteoarthritis, fractures).
NEUROLOGY
Knowledge of the most important syndromes, neurological damage, the most important neurological diseases and their management, the side effects of drugs used in neurology and neurological side effects of medications.
REHABILITATION SCIENCES
Describe the principles of rehabilitation in diseases of the elderly, as a tool to reduce disability and in people with spinal paralysis.
Describe the rehabilitation program to be implemented as part of the great Elder syndromes (stroke, fractures, dementia).
NURSING CLINICAL SPECIALIST AND GERIATRIC
Identify models of care and organizational contexts applicable to geriatric and rehabilitation.
Use the nursing process to manage care of the major issues relating to the elderly person, the person with stroke and dementia.
Use the nursing process to manage care of the problems of the person with chronic renal failure (CRF). Apply the nursing care process for the management of the patient receiving peritoneal dialysis and extracorporeal.
PSYCHIATRY AND PSYCHIATRIC NURSING
The module has the purpose to gain knowledge about the evolutionary stages and mechanisms of defense that the person put in place in response to stimuli / events in life and in cases where these mechanisms are not sufficient and result in mental health problems.
Will be framed in terms of diagnostic and therapeutic major psychotic disorders , neurotic , depressive and personality defining the principles multiprofessional acute care and rehabilitation . The course will also provide a description of the Department of Mental Health and the evolution of care with existing scenarios
NEPHROLOGY
To provide the sufficient knowledge to evaluate renal function at the time of patient admission. The main renal syndromes will be shown, addressing particularly worsening renal function and urinary tract infections. Aim of the course will be to recognize early renal dysfunction.

- INTERNAL MEDICINE (GERIATRICS)
Oral exam on the following topics:
1) aging (biology-demography), the characteristics of the elderly healthy and sick
2) The model of care geriatric (VMD) - the evidence Cochrane - other geriatric care evidence-based models: Stroke Unit and Orthogeriatrics
3) the drugs in the elderly and pharmacodynamics (receptors), adverse drug reactions (ADRs)
4) The Delirium (acute confusional state) as psicorganica syndrome
5) the balance alterations in the elderly and the risk of falls
6) The Dementia 7) The Stroke
Average duration of the test is approximately 20-30 minutes with one or two questions on the items from 1 to 5. The accounting criteria includes lexical competence, use of scientific language, completeness and correctness of the contents, clarity: neat display following a logical thread, deepening beyond the content provided, links with other education subjects.
The test will be marked out of thirty with the following attribution of voting mode
Point 1 and 2 18
Section 3 adds 4-6 points
Point 4 adds 4-6 points
Point 5 adds 1-2 points or praise
SCIENCE REHABILITATION
The exam consists of a theoretical and a practical test.
- Theoretical test addressing major diseases to rehabilitation, disability: evaluation and classification, the role and functions professions rehabilitation area, the professional integration and communication tools
The main evaluation criteria are: the correct content, the linguist properties, the link Trai various topics and other disciplines.
Attribution score exposes all the topics in depth by integrating them with other disciplines independently (30); He sets out the arguments and relates them individually (27), sets out the arguments and relates guided them (24), only exposes some arguments and some reports even if driven (21), exposes a few arguments and / or is not able to make relationships despite the help of the first question but manages to expose some arguments and some reports even if driven to the second question (18), incomplete in the second question (insufficient);
- PRACTICAL PART involves the application of a plan of rehabilitation assistance to postures, the mobilization and to a hemiplegic patient and / or fractured femur; the evaluation criteria are: iatrogenic injury, risk, message / communication to / with the patient, preparing setting, manual skills, theoretical construct to gesture
The detailed evaluation grid for the allocation score will be made explicit at the beginning of the course
The score of the practical test is worth 2/3, so the end result is practical test score x 2 + test score oral / 3
GENERAL AND CLINICAL NURSING SCIENCES
Oral examination. Main topics under evaluation: stroke disease, dementia, immobilization syndrome, risk of falls in the elderly, the elderly drug therapy, fragility, multidimensional evaluation units, network services. The examination lasts on average 20 min. Evaluation criteria: correctness and completeness of exposing the subject, clarity, scientific language.
NEUROLOGY
Written exam: 30 multiple choice questions with 5 possible answers. Time on 45 minutes. Score: 1 point per correct answer; 0 points for no answer given or wrong answer.
PSYCHIATRY and PSYCHIATRIC NURSING
The exam is oral integrated on the main contents that emerged in the two courses. Each student is required the solution of a welfare case through the multidisciplinary approach typical of the work of èquipe in mental health. Evaluation is of thirty; are evaluated the ability of problem solving, the use of scientific language and the ability to integrate with other disciplines. The average time for each candidate and about 30 minutes.
NEPHROLOGY
The exam is a multiple choice test, 10 questions, four answers, and only one is correct.
THE FINAL GRADE IS A WEIGHTED AVERAGE OF THE MARKS OBTAINED IN EACH TESTS. Reference texts
