Training objectives
- Knowledge of the principal hematological manifestations of neoplastic disorders, with reference to the modifications of blood count and serum biochemistry
To acquire the capability to analyze and solve a clinical problem Prerequisites
- Epidemiology, pathogenesis and clinical aspects of principal neoplastic disorders.
Course programme
- Bone marrow failure in tumors: anemia, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia
Infections in neoplasia. Thromboctic complications in tumors. Hypercalcemic syndrome
Tumoral lysis syndrome . Chemotherapy complications Didactic methods
- Lectures
Learning assessment procedures
- Oral examination, 15-20 minutes in length dealing with the analysis and solution of a clinical case. The final score will be assigned based on the completeness and clarity of presentation and on the capability to organize reasoning on a clinical case
