Training objectives
- The geriatric methodology presupposes a diversified clinical approach compared to traditional medicine because of the multidimensional vision that distinguishes it. The aim of the course is to provide the students with the methodological bases of clinical approach to the main geriatric syndromes in order to create knowledge and skills that are essential for the diagnostic assessment and the therapeutic / care management of older patients.
Prerequisites
- Frequency of courses: Internal Medicine part ! and Clinical Methodology part I.
Course programme
- Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (CGA), main Geriatric Syndromes: frailty and sarcopenia, falls and fragility fractures, hypokinetic syndrome, dementia, depression and delirium.
Didactic methods
- Pre-recorded online lessons with audio-visual supports and 1 Focus Group for discussion of clinical cases.
In case of persistence of anti-COVID measures, pre-recorded online lessons or in streaming. Learning assessment procedures
- 30 Multiple choice tests +1 for prise
In the event of persistence of anti-COVID measures that concern the impossibility of carrying out face-to-face examinations, exams will proceed to online oral exam. Reference texts
