Training objectives
- Course on venous accesses Arterial blood sample, bladder catheters and Nasogastric tubes. Highly practical, it will offer the participant the opportunity to practice the most used medical-nursing practices in hospital and home care, using interactive dummies.
Prerequisites
- Knowledge of human anatomy
Course programme
- Venous and arterial withdrawals: positioning of needle cannula, drip and intravenous therapy, arterial sampling technique for blood gas analysis.
Microbiological sampling with buffer. Blood culture protocol.
Intramuscular and subcutaneous injective therapy.
PICC and PORT-A-CATH management, dressing and washing.
Positioning and management bladder catheter in man and women.
Glycemic test.
Introduction and management of the naso-gastric tube Didactic methods
- Frontal lecture and practical exercises
Learning assessment procedures
- The exam includes a quiz and a practical test.
Multiple choice quiz: twenty questions with four answer options, one of which is exact. Time available 30 minutes.
