Training objectives
- To provide the medical student with theoretical and practical principles on the management of the neurological patient at the Health District Level. The most relevant care-pathways (percorsi diagnostico-terapeutici assistenziali, PDTA) for neurological diseases will be presented and discussed with examples from the Ferrara health system. Fundamentals of burden-of-disease and cost-of-illness studies in Neurology will be presented aimed to analyse the socio-economic burden of these disorders in the population, and according to a societal perspective. The ultimate aim of the Course is to stimulate the student’s training on the ‘how-to-do’ perspective of the Neurologist at different health care levels.
Prerequisites
- Having passed the exam of Neurology (integrated course of Neurology, Ophthalmology and Neurosurgery) – 5th year of degree studies.

- Multiple choice test with 30 4-option questions and 1 additional question for prise.
NB: Because of the Covid19 Emergency, the final evaluation will be oral via Google Meet web platform and simultaneous for all three modules. Each evaluation will be a 15-20-minute interview in the presence of the Lecturers and of at least one additional student. Reference texts
