- Knowledge of the main psychosocial and psychiatric implications in the advanced phases of illness
Biopsychosocial approach in palliative care
Knowledge of anticipatory grief and grief and bereavement Prerequisites
- Knowledge of clinical psychology, psychiatry and internal medicine
Course programme
- Psychosocial and psychiatric implictaions in advanced phase of illness
Staff-patient and family relationship: total pain, request for hastened death, spirituality in the advanced and terminal phase of illness
Greif and complicated grief
Psyhcopharmaoclogical and psychotherapeutic intervention (with particular reference to the spiritual and meaning centered psychotherapy Didactic methods
- Lectures and experiential work (role-play, self-experience exercises, case discussion) in small groups
Learning assessment procedures
- Oral exam: in the oral exam, of an average duration of 15-20 minutes, the main topics presented during the course will be discussed. For the assessment and scoring the teacher will evaluate the level of knowledge, the clarity and precision in discussing the themes, the ability of the candidate in connecting theory to clinical practice.
