- Feverish illness in children: Assessment and initial management in children.
Identify red flags and severe fever disease Prerequisites
- Frequency of the Paediatrics course
Course programme
- Fever: definition and hints of pathophysiology. Management. identification of red flags for severe illness. Clinical scenarios: -fever with localization (Pharynagogothonsillitis, OMA, Pneumonia, Meningitis, IVU) -fever without other indications: acute, short, FUO -recurrent/periodic fever (autoinflammatory diseases) -long lasting fever.
Didactic methods
- Frontal lessons. Interactive discussion of clinical scenarios.
Learning assessment procedures
- Oral examination: 2 questions. The ability to orient oneself within clinical scenarios will be evaluated.
