Training objectives
- This course has as the objective to describe clinical cases regarding head and neck urgencies/emergencies.
These situations need to be recognized and treated immediately since their severity. Prerequisites
- Knowledge of Anatomy, Physiology, General Phatology, Otorhinolaringology and Otology.
Course programme
- Traumatic (surgical or not), inflammatory and neoplastic diseases of head and neck that can expose the patient to severe risks.
These type of emergencies could be divided in:
- Respiratory
- Haemorrhagic
- Inflammatory Didactic methods
- Formal teaching. Slides presentation of clinical cases.
Learning assessment procedures
- Oral examination. The average duration of the exam will be 15 minutes. The knowledge and the ability to expose the information will be evaluated.
To pass the exam it is necessary to get at least 18 point out of 30. Reference texts
