Training objectives
- To provide students with an understanding of the pathology of the peripheral and cranial nerves, according to an integrating course with functional anatomy, physiopathology and clinical methodology, and diagnostic procedures for better understanding the main peripheral neurological disorders in medical practice.
To provide the necessary basis of therapeutic medical and surgical procedures which are adopted in the main diseases of the peripheral nervous system. Prerequisites
- Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the peripheral nervous system
Course programme
- The brachial plexus. Lumbosacral plexus. Facial nerve. State-aid. Oculomotor nerves. Optic Nerve. Bulbar nerves: IX-X-XI-XII
Trigeminal nerve. Taste and Smell Multi cranial neuropathies Didactic methods
- Frontal lessons
Learning assessment procedures
- Written exam. 30 questions with multiple choices’ answers. 5 answers are proposed for each question. Every corrected answer is evaluated one point. If the answer is uncorrected or the question is without answer, no point is assigned. Other three optional questions are proposed in the questionnaire; if they are completed and the answers are exacted, 30 cum laude can be obtained. Length of exam is 60 minutes.
