Training objectives
- Theoretical knowledge of the main biological and molecular mechanisms of tissue repair.
Acquire reparative techniques of acute and chronic wounds, with training. Prerequisites
- Propedeutic elements of biochemestry, general pathology, and clinical methodology
Course programme
- Theoretical knowledge of the main biological and molecular mechanisms of tissue repair including the role of genetic variants in tissue injury susceptibility, and in the protection of the reparative process. Iron metabolism and female gender.
Reparative techniques of acute and chronic wounds, with training. Techniques and materials of the surgical sutures. Debridment and dressing of the chronic wound, also when super infected. Compression therapy of the lower extremities. Didactic methods

Learning assessment procedures
- 11 multiple choice test (4 options). 3 score for each correct answer. No penalties for undelivered or wrong answers. The final grade will be determined by the number of correct answers. A minimum score of 18 out of thirty will be requested to pass the examination.
