Training objectives
- The student will learn the basic topical and systemic treatments in Dermatology. The main drugs used for the treatment of various dermatosis will be treated.
Prerequisites
- Knowledge of dermatology, general pathology and pharmacology
Course programme
- Principles of topical therapy. Use of keratolytic substances, emollients, tars, vit. D derivatives. Topical and systemic corticosteroids. Topical and systemic antiviral drugs. Topical and systemic antimycotic molecules. Phototherapy and photodynamic therapy. Antihistamines. Biological drugs. Cyclosporine. Retinoids. Criotherapy. DTG.
Didactic methods
- Formal teaching. Presentation with slides of clinical cases and instruments. Practical training and presentation of instruments used in common dermatological activities.
Learning assessment procedures
- Oral examination. Three questions about three different topics will be asked. The state of knowledge of the subject, the clarity and the ability to apply the information to clinical dermatological practice will be evaluated. The average duration of the exam will be 20 -25 minutes. To pass the exam it is necessary to get at least 18 point out of 30.
