- To learn cell culture techniques and their applications in dental research field.
Prerequisites
- Notions of biochemistry, molecular biology and cell biology

- Theoretical lessons:
•Sterility conditions and culture media (2h)
•Cell culture preparation (2h)
•Cell proliferation and viability (2h)
•Nucleic acid extraction (2h)
•PCR (2h)
•Real time RT-PCR, southern blotting and northern blotting (2h)
•Western blotting e immunohistochemistry (2h)
Practical lessons:
•Cell culture preparation (3h)
•Nucleic acid extraction (3h)
•PCR and electrophoresis (4h) Didactic methods
- Front lessons and practical training.
Learning assessment procedures
- Oral exam divided in two parts
1) Discussion of a scientific report by using slides prepared by the student.
2) Two questions regarding course program.
