Training objectives
- The aim of the course is to present the main epigenetic mechanisms occurring during the human cell growth and differentiation as well as their dysregulation in the human transformed cell. The purpose is to provide the basic knowledge of epigenetics in human normal and transformed cell, and then to highlight their applications.
Prerequisites
- Principles of biology and genetics
Course programme
- Introduction to epigenetics; control of gene expression: DNA methylation, histone protein modification and chromatin remodeling, microRNAs; the causes of epigenetic anomalies and the mechanisms that lead to cellular transformation; epigenetics of the transformed cells. Examples of epigenetic dysregulation.
Didactic methods
- Lectures and seminars
Learning assessment procedures
- 16 multiple choice questions (5 answers with only one correct)
