Training objectives
- Students are fully trained in the features of the main functional orthopaedic appliances, and dental movement during fixed multibracket (labial and lingual) and aesthetic appliance treatment.
Prerequisites
- The modules taught in the first semester.
Course programme
- Treatment of class III patients, Treatment of class II patients, Surgical orthodontic techniques, Aesthetics in Orthodontics.

Learning assessment procedures
- Oral exam lasting roughly 45 minutes; students are asked to discuss a clinical case based on their analysis of photographs, radiograms and models. From 5 to 10 questions will be asked, subdivided by topic. Clarity, appropriate language and terminology, the ability to reason about the proposed case, and the manual precision in the compilation of the clinical records and the execution and description of the cephalometric tracings are all considered in the final evaluation.
