Basic knowledge of the chemoprophylaxis. Antibiotic therapy (most important molecules) of the major Infectious and Tropical diseases and concepts of Antimicrobial Stewardship.
REUMATOLOGY
Knowledge of the classification of rheumatic diseases and knowledge of the clinical pictures of the main rheumatic diseases (both inflammatory and degenerative) with particular reference to those rheumatic diseases which can manifest with involvement of the oral cavity.
The student should be able to autonomously recognize the clinical pictures of the main rheumatic disease and should be advised for a prompt referral to the rheumatology specialist of those conditions which need further diagnostic and therapeutic approach. Appropriate communications skills with the patients are also required.

Prerequisites

INFECTIOUS DISEASES
Basic knowledge of anatomy, biochemistry, physiology, Pathology and microbiology and pharmacology and clinic (general concepts)
REUMATOLOGY
Good knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the musculo-skeletal apparatus and joints.
Basic knowledge of biology, molecular biology, genetics, cell physiology and immunology with particular reference to the immune-mediated inflammatory processes and autoimmunity.
Principles of pharmacology and knowledge of general clinical semeiology.
