Training objectives
- Classification and definition of sounds, physical main components, measurements units and instruments, special focus on speech sounds, principles of speech analyisis.
Prerequisites
- Basic physics and mathematics, mechanics concepts.
Course programme
- Sound classification, physical characteristics of harmonic vibrations, measurement units, phonometry, spectral analysis. Characteristics of speech and noise signals. Sound A/D conversion and its applications in prosthetics (hearing aids and cochlear implants)
