Training objectives
- Taking charge of adult patients with swallowing disorders, due to different etiology.
Prerequisites
- Anatomy and physiology of high aero-digestive tract (VADS)
Course programme
- - Overview of the physiopathology of swallowing
- Epidemiological aspects and natural history of related etiology dysphagia
- The management of the dysphagic patient
- Screening and bedside screening procedures
- Instrumental evaluation: endoscopy and radiology.
- Therapeutic planning
- The complex dysphagic patient with tracheotomy
- The patient operated on VADS
- The neurological patient
- Overview of physiopathology of swallowing disorders in children Didactic methods
- Lectures with watching movies,and clinical cases discussion.
Learning assessment procedures
- Written examination: 18 closed questions with four possible answers each. The time to complete the test available to students is 30 minutes. For each correct answer 2 points are awarded: the exam is passed with 9 correct answers. With the maximum score candidates get the praise.
