Training objectives
- Through the internship of third year, the student analyzes some particular knowledge and the core competence of his specific profile. . The objective is designed as a training path of integration into working reality with the aim to provide the student with the foundation for the qualitative and quantitative understanding of the biological and pathological phenomena and principles of pathophysiology needed in order to carry out rehabilitative treatment in disorders of ocular motility and binocular vision, rehabilitation of disabilities of visual function and be able to perform ophthalmological techniques.
The student can do a internship experience in other location, the duration and the location of experience has chosen together the educational director. Prerequisites
- To pass the exam of internship of second year it is necessary
Course programme
- The course forecasts 400 hours of internship, which can be conducted to different location. These hours are useful to learn and to carry out:
•To analyze the anamnesis dates
•To identify the health visual needs
•to relate with the patient and his family
•Ability to insert himself within the team rehabilitation
•to Identify the organization and be able to work in a team and in complex organizational contexts,
•to apply the therapeutic orpthotic rehabilitation in adult and pediatric patient,
•to design and implementation, in collaboration with other professionals , interventions of health promotion, screening and prevention of eye diseases , early diagnosis aimed at the individual and the community
•to do the description, understanding and interpretation of ophthalmological techniques Didactic methods
- The module is composed by: Guide internship, Frontal lectures, Team work, Problem based learning
The internship is done in some placement which are defined by the Orthoptics Course Council. All tutors of each placement, work together to planning, to management and to evaluation. Learning assessment procedures
- No exam at first semester.
