Training objectives
- The course gives the fundamental knowledge, which allows to describe the basic operation of the physiopathology of the eye. To achieve the basic knowledge about anterior and posterior segment, eye movement and pupillary disorders, about gaze disturbances and above major neurological dysfunction.

NEUROLOGY
The module forecasts 16 hours of lectures.
Disturbances of vision. Eye movements disorders. Pupillary Disorders. Gaze palsies. Neurological examination of the major neurological dysfunction, physio-pathology and medical features of main neurological disorders (which are defined based epidemiological data) with particular attention to brain-damaged, disorder and pathologies of nervous system central and peripheral (to originate from trauma, inflammation, vascular and degenerative problems.

Physiopathology of: orbit, ocular annexes, lid, tear apparatus, conjunctiva, cornea, sclera, uvea and lens and pathogenesis of these pathology.

Physiopathology of the vitreous body. Pathogenesis of Vitreous syneresis, Peripheral retinal degenerations, Vitreous detachment, Rhegmatogenous retinal detachment, tractional, post-traumatic, exudative retinal detachment, Diabetic retinopathy, Congenital and acquired non-diabetic vascular diseases, Macular diseases

Congenital and acquired diseases of the optic nerves. Diseases of the optic chiasm, optic tract and visual cortex. Disorders of ocular motility. Central and peripheral paralysis of the eye movements. Pupillary disorders and abnormalities of accommodation. Nystagmus. Didactic methods

- The final evaluation of the achievement of the objectives of the integrated course is the result of the WEIGHTED AVERAGE obtained from the sum of the scores of the individual courses. If the student does not pass a single module, he can repeat it.
