Training objectives
- On completion of the course the student is expected to have acquired skills in:
-facilitation strategies of breast-feeding.
-analysing the various methodologies to advise and support of breast-feeding.
-scientific contents and communication on the theme of breast-feeding.
-the regulations and documentation in support of breast-feeding Prerequisites
- Basic knowledge of female anatomy and physiology

- First part is devoted to skills laboratory with simulations, attendance in health services for observation
Material and methods
Breast-feeding and territory
Test of knowledge of physiology of breast-feeding
Counselling techniques: active listening and learning: instilling trust and support
Attachment of the newborn, position and suction
International and national code on support of breast-feeding
Main problems of breast linked to breast-feeding.
Help groups and counselling. Clinical practice.
Hospital routine and changes in routine for an effective support of breast-feeding Didactic methods
- Frontal lessons and attendance in family planning service in Ferrara for breast-feeding :observation

- Written test and certificate of attendance in chosen services
