Training objectives
- ------------------------------------------------------------
Modulo: 53410 - TECNICHE DI IMAGING IN MEDICINA NUCLEARE
------------------------------------------------------------
The course aims to introduce the student to the main applications of radiometabolic therapy with beta and alpha emitting radionuclides in the field of Nuclear Medicine.
------------------------------------------------------------
Modulo: 53856 - IMAGING DI MEDICINA NUCLEARE
------------------------------------------------------------
The course aims to provide the technical basis of imaging in Nuclear Medicine. Will also be examined and explored in a systematic way the main diagnostic procedures in the various aspects that involve the technologists in the field of Nuclear Medicine. In particular will be discussed: (a) single photon emission techniques (in planar and SPECT modalities); (b) positron emission tomography (PET); (c) aspects related to procedures with hybrid scanners (SPECT-CT and PET-CT). Prerequisites
- ------------------------------------------------------------
Modulo: 53410 - TECNICHE DI IMAGING IN MEDICINA NUCLEARE
------------------------------------------------------------
Consolidated knowledge in the field of: physics of the interaction of radiation with matter; ionizing radiation detection systems; structure and operation of single photon and PET tomographs; hybrid tomographs (PET-CT and SPECT-CT), elements of radiochemistry and radiopharmacy and knowledge on radioisotopes and radiopharmaceuticals.
