Training objectives
- The course aims to introduce the main classes of drugs most used in sport and motor activity, their mechanism of action and the molecular events that underlie the cellular and/or systemic effects of drugs. In addition, the course aims to study alternative treatment linked to health problems derived from motor activity.
Prerequisites
- Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physiology, Human Anatomy, General Pharmacology
Course programme
- Basilar concepts in the Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics. Motor activity as drug. Selected drugs in the sport. Interaction between motor activity and pharmacological treatment in different pathologies. Alternative treatments to solve problems linked to motor activity.
Didactic methods
- The course is conducted through classroom lectures and the use of power points for the frontal lessons.
Learning assessment procedures
- The aim of the examination is to test the level of achievement of learning objectives previously described. The exam consists to analize a project work and its drug treatment.
