Training objectives
- To switch from static Biochemistry to the moving Biochemistry required by phisycal exercise and therefore discuss the activation of energy metabolism necessary to pass from resting conditions to physical activity.
Prerequisites
- Knowledge of biochemistry
Course programme
- Rates and amounts of ATP synthesis in resting conditions, walking and running (particularly in sprinting and endurance competitions). The activation of aerobic and anaerobic metabolism required in these conditions is discussed. The energy metabolism insufficiencies dependent on cardiovascular and metabolic diseases are also presented.
Didactic methods
- frontal lessons
Learning assessment procedures
- Oral exam: thorough discussion of one of the subjects developped during the course
