Training objectives
- Provide students with knowledge on body composition and methods of its evaluation from the point of view of applications, with particular reference to the study of specific population groups. At the end of the course the students will be able to assess body composition of a subject with skinfold or bioimpedance method.

Course programme
- Direct and indirect methods for the determination of body composition with particular reference to the principles, assumptions, limitations, and applications of the techniques skinfolds and bioimpedance.
Body composition in relation to sex, age, ethnic group and level of physical activity.
Practical determination of body composition by anthropometric methods and bioimpedance method and organization of research on body composition. Didactic methods

Learning assessment procedures
- Oral exam: questions on topics and resolution of an exercise about body composition assessment (lasting about 20 min). The completeness and clarity, use of specific vocabulary will be taken in consideration. The aim of the oral examination is to test the level of knowledge and deepening of the topics of the course program and the reasoning skills developed by the student on issues related to body composition assessment.
