Training objectives

The course aims to provide the student with the basic knowledge of the human bio-diversity, its origin and evolution, and the means to analyse it, in particular with the methods of anthropometry. The course will also inform about the application of this knowledge to some items of ergonomics. For each trait, differences in gender, age and ethnicity will be taken into account, in line with the approach proposed by Gender Medicine.

Knowledge, applied knowledge and understanding:
The course will provide students with the basic knowledge to express individual morphometric characteristics in measurable parameters, measures useful among others to identify physical aptitudes towards specific sports and to customize training methods.

Didactic methods

Learning assessment procedures

The verification of learning will be performed by written examination. The text will consist of 62 multiple-choice questions (4 options for each question), related to all topics covered in class and during the practical exercises. Simple calculations may be included in the test (students should bring the calculator, they will not be allowed to use their mobile). No penalty is provided for incorrect or undelivered answers, but the questions will be prepared to induce the student to use notions and reasoning.
A minimum score of 18/30 will be requested to pass the exam.
