Genetic information: transcription, processing and translation.
Muscle development and signal transduction. The role of mTOR. Erythropoiesis regulation and erythropoietin function.
Genetic and pharmacological doping.
Actin/Myosin regulation. Calcium release and muscle contraction.
Muscle differentiation. Muscle specific transcription factors.
Muscle growth and regeneration.
Genes associated with muscle diseases: Duchenne disease. Dystrophin function.
Biochemistry of exercise and cellular adaptation.
Biochemical training. Didactic methods
- Frontal lessons
Learning assessment procedures
- Written test with 31 questions; every question is composed by three answers one true and two false. Exam time: one hour. The test is passed with a minimum of 18 right answers. By answering exactly all the questions, you get the praise.
