Training objectives
- The aim of the course is to present the main knowledge of epigenetics applied to moderate and agonistic physical exercise and in the rehabilitation procedures of former cardiopathic and oncological patients. The goal is to provide the student with the fundamentals of epigenetics and molecular genetics to recognize markers expressed differentially by healthy subjects during exercise and ex-cardiopathic and ex-oncological patients during their rehabilitation.
Prerequisites
- Principles of general and cellular biology, and of general and molecular genetics
Course programme
- The genes of the eukaryotic cell. The human genome. Control of genetic expression. Chromatin and its remodeling. Expression of cellular and circulating microRNAs. Identification of microRNAs as markers and their target genes.
Didactic methods
- Lectures and thematic seminars
Learning assessment procedures
- 17 Multiple choice questions with 5 answers, with only correct.
